MRI
Alliance Imaging is the only facility outside of Rochester in Minnesota to offer GE's Signa Works AIR™ Technology for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
This innovative technology has numerous clinical benefits including shorter scan times for patients and improved image detail for our radiologists.
The AIR™ Technology also introduces soft flexible coils to replace traditional rigid coils used to capture images of specific body parts. The outcome is increased comfort and an overall better experience for our patients.
MRI is commonly used to view the brain, spinal cord, joints, ligaments and tumors.
This advanced imaging modality produces high-resolution results to help diagnose a variety of problems and irregularities.

What to Expect
When you arrive for your MRI scan, you will be asked some questions about your health history and you may be asked to change into a gown.
Some MRI scans require IV or oral contrast, which are FDA approved compounds used to highlight certain body structures and help radiologists distinguish normal from abnormal conditions.
Your MRI technologist will ask you to lie down and will fit the body part being scanned with our advanced AIR™ soft coil.
You will be given ear protection because the magnet produces a noisy knocking sound when in use. You will also be provided with your choice of music.
Scan times generally take between 30 and 60 minutes
